“I taught my first Pilates class over 14 years ago when I was working very long and stressful hours as a Fashion Buyer. It was then very much an unknown method of exercise but I was hooked from the very first class and vowed to make it part of my life – I went on to qualify with the BCPA in 2003 and not long afterwards I made the switch to teaching Pilates full time.
I am qualified to teach beginners, intermediate and advanced matwork and reformer Pilates, as well as ante and post natal Pilates. Many of my classes incorporate small equipment – fitness bands, balls and toning circles to further challenge and assist the exercises you perform. For the BCPA, I am a supervising teacher helping with the training and development of student teachers.
I remain as passionate as ever about Pilates, going to classes, teaching classes and striving to study and advance my skills so that I am continually developing as a teacher.”
Amanda first discovered Pilates after suffering problems with a neck injury from a young age. She soon realised the amazing benefits that Pilates can bring and it was this experience that encouraged Amanda to train as a teacher.
Amanda is now a registered teacher with the Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA), Europe’s leading professional body for teachers. She has over 8 years experience teaching Pilates and is a level 4 Pilates Instructor with the Register of Exercise Professionals.
She has recently qualified as a REPS level 4 Back Care Professional and is now qualified as a “Master” teacher with the BCPA – the highest qualification for matwork teachers.
